Ham Hock and Soup Mix

Makes 6 servings
- 1 ham hock
- 3/4 cup soup mix*
- about 7 cups water
- salt and pepper to taste
Simmer all ingredients for 45 minutes or until tender. remove ham hock, returning meat to soup. Serve.
* Dry soup mix can be purchased from food storage companies and in some grocery stores.
