Unique Recipes From Magic Mix
Spaghetti

Magic Mix
bullet4 cups instant powdered milk(2 1/2 cups non-instant milk)
bullet1 cup flour
bullet 1 cup margarine
Combine dry milk, flour and margarine into a large bowl and mix until it looks like cornmeal. Keep mix tightly covered in the refrigerator. (Makes 5 cups Magic Mix.) Note: Magic Mix can be used in many recipes to make food prep easy and economical. Try a few of the following recipes.

Cream soup

Serves 4
bullet4 cups water
bullet1 cube or 1 tsp bouillon granules
bullet2 cups Magic Mix
bulletAdd one or more of the following
bullet3 cups cooked carrots, mashed
bullet3 potatoes,cooked and chopped
bullet1 tablespoon onion
bullet1 can chopped clams
bullet1package chopped spinach, cooked
bullet1 can cream-style corn
bullet1 tablespoon chopped onion
Combine water, Magic Mix and bouillon in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until slightly thick. Add desired ingredients. Heat thoroughly.

White Sauce

Makes 1 cup
bullet2/3 cup Magic Mix
bullet1 cup water
In a saucepan combine Magic Mix and water., Stir rapidly over medium heat until it starts to bubble. (note- use magic sauce for all recipes calling for a white or cream sauce.)

Macaroni and Cheese

Serves 4
bullet1 cup white sauce from Magic Mix
bullet1 cup uncooked macaroni
bullet4-5 ounces of grated cheese (about 1 cup)
bullet1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt or garlic salt
Cook macaroni in boiling water until tender. Drain. Combine macaroni, white sauce, cheese and add seasoning. Heat through.

Magic Mix Pudding

Makes 4 1/2 cup servings
bullet1/2 cup sugar
bullet1 cup Magic Mix
bullet 1 teaspoon vanilla
bullet 2-3 tablespoons cocoa(opt)
bullet2 cups water
Combine Magic Mix, sugar, and cocoa in saucepan and mix well. Add water, stir over medium heat until pudding begins to bubble. Add vanilla and beat. Cover and cool.

Magic Mix Whipped Topping
bullet6 tablespoons instant(3 1/2 non-instant) dry milk
bullet1 cup boiling water
bullet2 Tablespoons cold water
bullet1 teaspoon vanilla
bullet2 tsp unflavored gelatin
bullet2-4 tablespoons sugar
Dissolve the milk in the cup of water and scald. Soak the gelatin in cold water. Combine the scalded milk, dissolved gelatin and sugar. Stir and chill in the refrigerator until it jells. Now Beat the mixture until it acquires the consistency of whipped cream. Add the vanilla and whip again.
