Fried Cornmeal Mush

6 cups water
2 cups corn grits
1 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Lower heat to low and cook until thickened. Pour into greased loaf pan and refrigerate until cool.

Remove from loaf pan, slice into 1/2" slices and fry in butter or cooking oil on a griddle. Serve with maple syrup, grated cheese or butter.
