Pea Bean Soup

Recipe by Al Durtschi

 
bullet2 cups dried lima beans
bullet2 cups dried split peas
bullet1 cube butter or use substitute
bullet1 teaspoon salt
bullet1/2 teaspoon pepper
bullet2 or 3 cups onions (or substitute with onion flakes)
bulletHam, if you have it.
Soak beans and peas overnight. Boil for 1 hour. Add onions, butter, salt and pepper, ham or any other spices and seasoning you wish. Cook 15 more minutes or until beans are tender.
