Wheat Pilaf with Bacon Bits At home, combine: bulgur, corn and/or dried veggies, and the bacon bits. Pack the cheese in a separate plastic bag. On the trail: place bulgur mix in pot and add 5-1/3 cups water. Bring to a boil and simmer until done (about 10 minutes depending on the thickness of the dried veggies and type of bulgur). Serve into bowls and sprinkle with cheese. Makes about 5 cups pilaf, or two 2-1/2 cup servings. |
