SproutMaster is the best Tray Sprouter ever!

Available in two sizes with stackable trays, this modular sprouting device is perfect for growing vertical Leafy sprouts, but is also a fantastic all-purpose sprouter.

The SproutMaster is packaged in singles and three’s. Each package has an extra lid so that the unit may be used as a crisper. Three packs come with 4 lids and single trays are shipped with 2 lids.

We offer 3 configurations of the SproutMaster:
1) 3 Stacking Mini Trays measuring 5 x 6 inches each.
2) 1 Tray measuring 8 x 10 inches (You can purchase multiple trays and stack them.)
3) 3 Stacking 8 x 10 inch trays as a set with 4 lids.

Every tray, whether 5 x 6 inches  (mini) or 8 x 10 inches (standard) comes with a divider which fits into a guide, allowing you to grow 2 crops per tray.

The bottom of every tray is full of small holes which allows for exceptional drainage of all sprouting seeds. The holes are small enough that even small seeds like alfalfa can be sprouted in a SproutMaster. Of course even as easy to use as a SproutMaster tray is you still have to play an active part in growing your sprouts. The SproutMaster is made of heavy duty, food grade, white plastic. It will last a lifetime.

When selecting seed to sprout it is important to use seed that has been grown organically or is free from all harmful chemicals. Seeds sold to plant in your garden are often treated with poisonous chemicals to make them more successful in surviving the distributor to store to garden exposures.

Sprouts can be eaten alone, in sandwiches, salads, burritos, casseroles, soups, meatloafs, on baked potatoes or used in hundreds of other dishes. Let your creativity run wild!

NOTE: Owning three or more sprouters makes it possible to rotate crops. While waiting for seeds to sprout, you can always have some ready to eat.

Seeds to Sprout
In SproutMaster

These seeds are a Perfect match for SproutMaster:

Leafy Sprouts: Alfalfa/Clover and Mixes - Leafy sprouts are the best thing about using SproutMaster. When you grow these in a tray they grow vertically, roots down, leaves up! It is very beautiful!

Broccoli Family - Broccoli, Radish, Mustard, Cabbage, etc.
These will work just great in the SproutMaster. Remember to try to keep them from forming a solid mass.

Onions - Garlic, Leek and Onion

Beans
- All (see Mung Note below)

Mung Beans - The 2 big issues with growing large, thick rooted Mungs is keeping them dark while growing and applying weight to the growing sprouts. SproutMaster, though not deep is dark inside and applying weight is easier with this device than with most others. Soak 1/2 cup of Mung Beans per 5x6 inch tray or 1.3 cups per 8x10 inch tray. The only other issue is the soak period we suggest while growing Mungs. You can submerge the tray in a pot of water to accomplish that.

Grains - All

Nuts and Seeds - Almonds, Pumpkins, Peanuts, Sunflower, etc.

Pre-Sprout Perfection and Possibilities:

Grass and Greens - Because the SproutMaster has a top lid and bottom (the same lid is the top or bottom) it can hold moisture well which makes it possible to grow grass and greens without soil. Doing so always requires extra attention but as long as you keep the seeds moist all through growing, it can be done. They can also stack and the moisture flows from layer to layer without pooling.

Growing grass and greens without soil may not be as a good way to grow these crops but it is possible. Experiment Freely! One problem is that the roots will grow out of the holes in the bottom - in a big way. Be sure to cut them off when you harvest, then just let them dry and they will rub right out. If you try to pull them when still living you could hurt SproutMaster.

Impossible:

Micro-Greens are not recommended in for sprouting in the SproutMaster. These do better in soil.

Sprouting Instructions

Specific Sprouting Instructions are found on the page devoted to the Seed or Mix you are interested in.

Below are SproutMaster specifics:

Seed Prep

Not all seeds require this step. See the seed information page to see if you need to do this for the seed you are sprouting.

SproutMaster is swell at allowing you to run water through seeds, but getting the seeds out to Soak would be a problem with small seeds, so you'll be happier if you don't prep any but big seeds (beans, grains, greens, etc.) with SproutMaster.

Soaking

You can not soak your seeds in SproutMaster unless you put the whole tray in a sink, bucket or large pot. Use a bowl or similar water holding unit to presoak the seeds. We soak our seeds in a quart jar then transfer to the SproutMaster to sprout.

Rinsing

Rinse each tray individually and Drain well before re-stacking. Hold SproutMaster under your faucet or better yet, your sprayer for 15 - 20 seconds - using cool (60 - 70°) water (unless instructed otherwise by your seed supplier). Move the sprayer or SproutMaster around to get all of the crop watered well. The rule to remember is: Rinse at least until the water runs clear from the bottom of the tray.
