SproutMaster
Sprouting Instructions Specific Sprouting Instructions are found on
the page devoted to the Seed or Mix you want to sprout. PreparationNot all seeds require this step. See the seed information page to see if you need to do this for the seed you are sprouting. Carefully sort your seeds removing any foreign matter and pour into the SproutMaster for cleaning. The SproutMaster allows you to run water through the seeds easily to rinse and clean them. Getting the seeds out to soak would be a problem with small seeds, so you'll be happier if you don't prep anything but big seeds (beans, grains, greens, etc.) by using the SproutMaster. SoakingYou can not soak your seeds in SproutMaster unless you put the whole tray in a sink, bucket or large pot because the SproutMaster does not hold water. That is why it is so successful in sprouting seeds. Use a bowl, jar, glass or similar container to presoak the seeds. We soak our seeds in a quart jar then transfer them to the SproutMaster for sprouting. RinsingRinse each tray individually and Drain well before re-stacking. Hold SproutMaster under your faucet or better yet, your sprayer for 15 - 20 seconds - using cool (60 - 70°) water (unless instructed otherwise by your seed supplier). Move the sprayer or SproutMaster around to get all of the crop watered well. The rule to remember is: Rinse at least until the water runs clear from the bottom of the tray. SproutingPut the tray in a warm, dark area and let the sprouts grow. Every 4-12 hours be sure to rinse the sprouts again and return to let them sprout. If the sprouts are preferred green you may move them into the light at the end of the sprouting time. Usually one or two days is sufficient to green sprouts. Most bean sprouts become bitter if allowed to green.
